This was my first trip to Yosemite and backpacking the North Rim of the valley was absolutely breathtaking. From camping atop El Capitan on Night 1, to seeing sweeping views of Half Dome on Day 2, and finally a knee and sole-crushing descent (for some of us) on Day 3, I highly recommend it.

So what exactly makes backpacking so enjoyable? After all, the middays can be hot, your body can get sore, and ...bugs?
Mhm. All of those things!
But there's so much more. I'll chat a bit about the things I love most about our trips in the hopes of convincing someone teetering on the edge to go for it. Or, if you're a regular backpacker, I'd love to hear what motivates you to get outside, too!
Boldly Curious was started in July 2017 as a way to share experiences and connect with others who have a desire to grow continuously, learn every day, and to do so fearlessly.
